Housing is a Human Right
On International Human Rights Day 2009, homeless advocate Al Williams stands on the porch of the Pamela Kincaid Neighborhood Center, named after a fellow activist and friend who died under suspicious circumstances during a class-action lawsuit over the city's mistreatment of its homeless population. Williams and other homeless residents of Fresno have begun occupying bank-owned foreclosed homes and releasing photographic proof to the press, putting pressure on the city to help stop its poor from dying on the streets.
